Join Access-ABLE, the Pre-Professional Society, and Compassionate Care in Medicine Club for a workshop hosted by Dr. Feranmi Okanlami. Dr. Okanlami is a family medicine physician with the University of Michigan and lives with a spinal cord injury. He also occupies the following roles at Michigan: Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Urology at Michigan Medicine, and the Interim Director of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) and Director of Adaptive Sports & Fitness within the Division of Student Life at the University of Michigan. He also serves as the Director of Adaptive Sports in the Michigan Center for Human Athletic Medicine & Performance. As he is very interested in improving diversity, equity, and inclusion towards people with disabilities (especially in the healthcare professions), the talk is entitled "Disabusing Disability" and is meant to demonstrate that disability does not necessarily mean inability.
The event takes place Wednesday, March 23rd at 4pm at the following link: https://notredame.zoom.us/j/91392686298?pwd=SFJWSUowSmVlbHJXMWI2Mm1BVmMwdz09
