Two paid internships are available for students from College of Science to apply.
One is working with Dr. Vonderheide’s research group. Dr. Vonderheide’s research focus is tumor immunology and developing novel immunotherapies for cancer: https://www.med.upenn.edu/apps/faculty/index.php/g20000320/p1073. Perelman School of Medicine
University of Pennsylvania
The second one is a position at Basser Center which would be a great opportunity for someone interested in clinical research, genetics or genetic counseling. The student would work with the research team, primarily with the Associate Director of Research. Data cleaning, study documentation, and tracking of biospecimens will be involved. There will be limited patient contact, by telephone and by occasional shadowing of clinical team. This position is more like a 9-5 office job, but it is at a research institute, so there are seminars with visiting faculty and exposure to a clinical research environment.

Executive Director, Basser Center for BRCA
Basser Professor in Oncology
